Over at Graphixia, Peter Wilkins thinks about collaboration, in comics as well as the academy, in relation to some of the recent work on comics and cultural work.
He (altogether fairly) registers some hesitation at thinking about comics or any other kind of “labour of love” as nothing more than an economic system. The trick, I think, is recognizing that love and money are utterly interwoven; you can’t separate them, and no act of creativity can ever be reduced to either art or commerce.
